"Booking took more effort than it should"
Tried booking a cruise on the site. It was slow. Kind of confusing too. The price looked like it changed at checkout, which was annoying. I got it booked in the end. But yeah, not very smooth.

"Shore trips were super easy"
The shore trips were really well organized. Meeting points were easy to find, and getting back onboard was totally hassle-free.

"Itinerary didn’t quite live up to expectations"
I booked this cruise because the route looked really appealing, but the itinerary ended up being a bit disappointing. Some of the ports I was most excited about felt really rushed, while we seemed to spend more time in places where there wasn’t as much to do. There were also some timing changes that made the trip feel a little less relaxed than I’d hoped. It wasn’t a terrible experience overall, but if the ports are the main reason for booking, I’d probably think twice before choosing MSC again

"I booked because the upfront price looked..."
I booked because the upfront price looked good, but once I was onboard, the extra charges just kept coming. Service fees, drinks, WiFi, and even small things I assumed would be included all added up fast. I get that some extras cost money, but it should be clear from the start. A cheap price doesn’t mean much if you end up paying a lot more later. I wouldn’t book again.

"Pretty decent for the price"
I’d say it’s a good value overall. It’s not the absolute cheapest option out there, but for what you get, it felt fair to me. I was kind of comparing a few things at the time and, prices are all over the place, but this one seemed like a decent middle ground.

"Nice cruise, but the port schedule felt a little sketchy"
Overall, we had a good time and the ship itself was perfectly fine. But the port times were kind of frustrating. A couple stops felt way too short, and then the schedule changed a bit, which threw off some plans we’d made. I couldn’t help feeling like they kept things tight on purpose so people would spend more time on the ship. Maybe I’m being suspicious, but it did feel a little odd. Still a decent trip, I just really wish we’d had more time to actually enjoy the ports

"Kids club was just okay"
The pools were really nice and probably the highlight for us. The kids club was just okay though, it felt crowded, so my kids didn’t end up spending as much time there as we expected. I had checked the info in the email before we went and thought it might be a bit more organized, but overall it was fine, just not amazing.

The ship was busy, so I thought we’d be stuck waiting around forever. But once we gave it a try, the queues actually moved a lot quicker than expected. Such a relief

"I paid for the drinks package thinking it..."
I paid for the drinks package thinking it would make things easier, but how is this okay? There were so many rules about what was actually included, and somehow I still ended up paying extra for normal drinks. Onboard prices were already high, so it really didn’t feel like I was saving anything. Definitely wouldn’t bother getting it again.

My first thought was that the food just wasn’t it. The buffet was cold most days, and dinner tasted bland overall. A few of the desserts were decent, but not enough to make up for the rest. I wouldn’t say the food was worth the trip

"Cabin cleaning wasn’t really up to scratch"
I booked through msccruises.co.uk and overall the cruise was fine, but the cabin cleaning just didn’t feel right. My quick test is usually simple: are the bins emptied, are the towels sorted, and does the bathroom feel fresh? A few days, the answer was basically no. The room looked like it had been given the fastest possible once-over, and towels were still on the floor even after we asked.
The cabin steward was polite, so I don’t think it was a bad attitude thing. It felt more like they were rushed or had too many cabins to get through. Still, there was dust on shelves and the bathroom never felt properly cleaned, which is the kind of thing that sticks in your mind. It didn’t ruin the holiday, but for the price, I expected better.

"Pretty good buffet overall"
I mostly remember the good parts, to be honest, the buffet had a lot to choose from and most of what I tried was tasty. Breakfast queues did get a bit annoying some mornings, but I’ve kind of blocked that part out because the food was generally worth it.

"Entertainment was "pretty disappointing""
The entertainment was "pretty poor" for most of the trip. The shows started to feel repeated and a bit boring after a couple nights. After dinner, there really wasn’t much going on unless you were into loud music, so evenings felt kind of flat.

"Nice staff, but a little hit or miss"
Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. A couple of them did seem a bit rushed though, like they were trying to get through things quickly. It wasn’t bad, not bad at all, but I guess I was just expecting a little more overall

"Plenty to do and genuinely enjoyable"
I never felt bored while I was on board. There was always something going on, and I ended up learning a lot too. What I appreciated most was that people were treated with basic kindness and respect, which really should be the standard everywhere. Overall, a really good experience.

I reached out because I needed help, but it took days to get a reply. When they finally responded, it wasn’t very helpful either. i expected at least a proper apology for the delay

"Ship facilities were disappointing"
I wasn’t that impressed with the ship. The pools were packed pretty much all day, so it never felt relaxing. And this is where it got annoying: the lifts took forever, half the gym machines seemed to be out of order, and even finding a basic place to sit around the ship was a struggle. The kids area also felt small and a bit worn out. For what we paid, I expected the facilities to be a lot better.

"The app made things more of a hassle"
The cruise itself was alright, like nothing terrible there, but the onboard app was a pain. It kept kicking me out, and half the time the stuff I’d booked either didn’t show up right or took ages to load, so I was just standing there trying to figure out what was going on.

The WiFi wasn’t much better, even though we paid for it. Messages to each other on the ship would show up late or sometimes not at all, which kind of defeats the point. In the end we just did the old-school thing and agreed to meet at certain places because that actually worked.
For such a big cruise company, I figured the tech would be a bit more sorted. The staff were nice enough and tried, but most of the advice was basically “restart the app” or “try again later,” which didn’t really fix much.

"Ship could have been a lot cleaner"
I was really excited for this cruise, but the cleanliness of the ship was a disappointment for me. When we got to our cabin, there was dust sitting in the corners, and the bathroom just didn’t feel like it had been properly cleaned before we arrived.

The public toilets were also messy quite a few times during the trip, which didn’t help the overall impression. The staff were friendly enough, but it felt like the cleaning wasn’t being kept up with. Personally, I wouldn’t rush to book this ship again unless I knew they had improved things.
